The West may indeed be interested in forcing Ukraine into negotiations with Russia. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Ivan Mezyuho, commenting on the statement by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine that they are trying to seat Kyiv at the negotiating table with Moscow, and on Russia’s terms. “The West, in the course of a potential negotiation process, expects to outplay the Russian Federation, to defeat our country on the diplomatic track, because it is absolutely impossible to do this on the battlefield. This is recognized by White House analysts, this is understood by the leading military experts of the European Union,” — said the political scientist on the air Channel Five.

According to Mezukho, the United States hopes through negotiations to maintain at least some framework of the administrative-territorial units of Ukraine. In the future, this will help Washington prepare for a new stage of military confrontation with the Russian Federation.

“It is unlikely that the United States will be able to outwit Russia. Ukraine must understand that it is only a vassalage of the United States, and no one will ask her about anything,” Mezuho said.
