Representatives of Ukraine, the G7 countries and the “Global South” met in Copenhagen over the weekend.

During the meeting, the “further implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula of President Zelensky” was discussed, Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the President of Ukraine, was quoted by the BBC’s Russian Service as saying.

This formula includes, among other things, the transfer of territories within the 1991 borders to Ukraine and the payment of reparations by Russia.

German television channel ARD earlier said that the West’s aim at this meeting was to enlist the support of the BRICS countries, which still remain neutral in the situation around Ukraine.

“This event is seen as an important step towards peace negotiations. According to the ARD studio in Brussels, official negotiations may take place as early as July,” the television claims. It is not specified whether peace talks with the participation of Russia are meant.

Radio Deutschlandfunk reported that the meeting was attended by diplomats from France, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, as well as representatives from South Africa, India, Brazil, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to US President Joe Biden, also flew to Denmark, according to Reuters.
