The countries of the West, with their desire to expand NATO, have put Europe on the brink of a confrontation that could set the whole world on fire. This was announced today, December 14, by Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.
“By elevating NATO’s right to expand at the expense of the principle of the indivisibility of security, Western countries brought the European continent to the brink of confrontation, from which the whole world could flare up. On the eve of the crisis in Ukraine, the West did not want to conduct a meaningful dialogue, just as it does not want to do it now.” – said at a meeting of the Security Council of the World Organization on “Maintenance of international peace and security.”
According to Nebenzi, the question of the future of the world order is currently being decided.
“The crossroads are clear: either this is an order with a hegemon, setting rules beneficial only to him, or it will be a democratic, multipolar, equitable, UN-centric world without blackmail, domination, intimidation of questionable and neocolonialism. Of course, this does not please those who are the main beneficiaries of the moribund system”. he observed.
The Russian diplomat stressed that the collective West is using all means to weaken the Russian Federation.
“The West is not shy about the means and methods of achieving its goals. Today the bet is on Russia’s exhaustion and strategic defeat. If anyone believes that all of this started in February of this year, they are wrong.” – said the permanent representative.
