The West will ease sanctions on Russia against extending the export of agricultural products through Black Sea ports – 2024-08-26 16:55:50

/ world today news/ On July 3, the British newspaper “Financial Times” revealed that the EU was considering allowing the Russian Agricultural Bank to create a subsidiary that would have access to SWIFT. In this regard, on the same day, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Russia has not published any news related to the agreement on the export of agricultural products through the Black Sea ports. He indicated that there is little hope that it will be extended.

Since the entry into force of the agreement, Russia has repeatedly expressed its dissatisfaction with its implementation and stressed that the contents of the memorandum have not been implemented and exports of grain products and fertilizers from Russia are still affected by Western sanctions. The agreement has been extended three times and will expire at midnight on July 17. Russia has said it has little hope of extending it.
