The well-known portal “Goal.com” created the best XI in the history of Borussia Dortmund. There was room for two Polish players in the squad.

Borussia Dortmund is one of the best German clubs in history. BVB has in its showcase, among others eight trophies for the national championship and a trophy for winning the Champions League.

A significant contribution to the success of the club from the Ruhr area was made by Polish footballers, such as Robert Lewandowski, Łukasz Piszczek and Jakub Błaszczykowski, who were important figures in Jurgen Klopp’s team. With them in the composition of Borussia m.in. twice became the champion of Germany, and also played in the final of the Champions League.

The service “Goal.com” decided to create the eleven of all time of the club from the Ruhr area. Journalists found a place for two of the three above-mentioned Poles – Łukasz Piszczek and Robert Lewandowski.

Borussia Dortmund’s best XI in history according to “Goal.com”:

Weidenfeller – Piszczek, Kohler, Cesar, Dede – Sammer, Zorc, Reus, Burgsmueller – Lewandowski, Emmerich

Piszczek played for BVB from 2010 to 2021. He played 382 matches, scored 19 goals and made 64 assists.

Lewandowski, on the other hand, represented the club from Dortmund for four years (2010-2014). In 187 games, he scored 103 goals and recorded 42 assists.
