The weekend posters, with Chelsea-Manchester City, Arsenal-Tottenham and Marseille-Lens

It’s a new, very big football weekend that is shaping up in Europe, especially in the Premier League, with nothing more and no less than a remake of the last Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City, and a North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. In Ligue 1, the shock of Sunday will oppose Marseille to Lens, while La Liga has a nice Real Madrid-Villareal in store for us, and Serie A the Rome derby between Lazio and Roma. Remember to warm up before kick-off!

Chelsea – Manchester City, la Premier League des Champions

The weekend did not start off smoothly, with neither more nor less than Chelsea-Manchester City, to be followed this Saturday, September 25 from 1:30 p.m. live on RMC Sport. The two clubs meet a few weeks after the Champions League final which had opposed them, and had seen the victory of the Blues of Tuchel against the Skyblues of Guardiola. After having already faced Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, Chelsea are continuing their very tough start to the season, and would definitely be seen as the big favorite in the Premier League if they win against the defending champion. Lukaku, Mount, Jorginho, Kanté, De Bruyne, Grealish, Mahrez, Ruben Dias on the pitch: what better way to start a pure football weekend?

Same day, same time (but not same port, sorry Patrick Bruel), Manchester United receives Aston Villa on RMC Sport 2. We will also follow the trip from Liverpool to Brentford, but the other big shock of the weekend in the Premier League will obviously be the North London Derby, between two clubs who cordially hate each other: Arsenal and Tottenham. The two are also in the recovery, but on very different dynamics: the Spurs have just lost their last two games, and the Gunners to win theirs. So who will be the new boss of North London? Answer Sunday, September 26 at 5.30 p.m. on RMC Sport.

Marseille-Lens in Ligue 1

After the particularly agitated 7th day of Ligue 1 which took place this Wednesday, place in the 8th, with we hope a little less invasions of the ground by the supporters, or strange refereeing decisions. As always, you will have to alternate between Amazon Prime Video, which transmits eight matches on its Ligue 1 Pass, and CANAL + (available as an option from SFR), which will broadcast PSG – Montpellier on Saturday at 9:00 p.m., then Clermont – Monaco on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. The shock of the weekend will take place Sunday evening at 9 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video, with Marseille, 2nd, which receives Lens, 4th. Normally, between two of the hottest audiences in France and who respect each other, the atmosphere should be good. On the ground, however, there should be no gifts given to the opponent, especially as the Sang & Ors feel a great sense of injustice, after having to face Strasbourg behind closed doors for their first defeat of the season, in a meeting marked by the incomprehensible expulsion of defender Danso. One thing is certain, this season, we never get bored in Ligue 1 …

Shocks also in Spain and Italy

Like every weekend, football lovers who want to see everything, know everything, will sometimes have to make choices. Because in La Liga too, a nice match awaits us, between Real Madrid and Villarreal, two participants in the Champions League, on Saturday 25 at 9:00 p.m. on beIN SPORTS 1 (available as an option from SFR). Both teams have the same peculiarity of being unbeaten, but while Real Madrid are currently leaders, Villarreal is yet only 11th. The players of the yellow submarine, trained by Emery and winners of the last Europa League, are indeed one game late, but above all have already conceded four draws out of the five disputed.

  • Real Madrid – Villarreal, to follow Saturday September 25 at 9:00 p.m. live on beIN SPORTS 1

In Serie A, it is one of the hottest matches in Europe that will be the shock of the weekend: the Rome derby, opposing Lazio to Roma. The two clubs hate each other even more than Remus and Romulus, and José Mourinho, now Roma coach, should not be counted on to not use this rivalry to motivate his troops. The commitment will be total in the Italian capital, and Sunday evening, some supporters will sing louder than others. But which ones?

  • Lazio Rome – AS Rome, to follow Sunday September 26 at 6:00 p.m. live on beIN SPORTS 2

For football fans, in any case, this weekend promises to be particularly intense:
