The wedding turns into a disaster after the groom receives a present from his mother-in-law

Jakarta

Marriage is one of the historic moments in life. Even if it was planned as carefully as possible, sometimes unexpected things can happen, like in this marriage.

Launching eva.vn from India Today, a wedding in India suddenly went viral as it turned into a disaster. The horrific incident which was supposed to be a happy day for the groom, Arun Kumar, 24, and his wife, happened on 1 November 2022 in Akbarpur village, Etawah city, Uttar Pradesh state, in India.

It started with Arun Kumar’s father-in-law giving a gift in the form of a luxury car on his wedding day. Since he was too excited to receive the award, Arun therefore decided to give it a test drive so that he could show it to everyone.

Arun himself had never been trained to drive a car. But he was determined to test the car that his father-in-law had given him.

After starting the engine, instead of pressing the brake pedal, Arun Kumar pressed the accelerator pedal. This caused the car to go so fast that it hit some of his relatives who were there.

His 35-year-old aunt named Sarla Devi passed away as a result of the tragedy. In addition, 4 other people were seriously injured and are hospitalized. One of the 4 people injured was a 10-year-old girl.

As a result of the groom’s actions, he was arrested by the police on charges of reckless driving causing serious injury to others. Apart from that, Arun’s marriage also broke down. As they have not performed the ‘Tilak’ ceremony yet, the two are not yet officially considered husband and wife. The Tilak ceremony itself is one of the traditional wedding ceremonies to be officially recognized as husband and wife.
