Temperatures will drop below -10 degrees
On the first day of the work week – yellow and orange codes for hazardous weather. In the coming days, an icy cold period is ahead, in which we will most likely record the lowest February temperatures. The weather will be determined by a core of cold arctic air, which is expected to relax our country around the middle of the month.
Light snowfalls are still possible in Western Bulgaria on Monday before noon, but the tendency is for them to stop and for the clouds to break up. During the day, however, it will snow in the central and eastern areas, where cloud cover will remain significant until the evening. Rainfall will be longer in the Pre-Balkans. The wind in Eastern Bulgaria for another day will be strong and cold from the north, with gusts up to 80-90 kilometers per hour. The day will be cold with daily temperatures from zero to minus 5 degrees.
By the end of the week, the February cold will be particularly noticeable throughout the country. During the night and early morning hours, temperatures will drop to minus 10 – minus 12 degrees, and during the day they will fluctuate around and below zero. The wind in the eastern regions and on the mountains will create a feeling of frost. He is expected to lose weight before the holidays.
Cloudiness will be more visible by the middle of the week with the potential for snowfall in the Pre-Balkans, North-Eastern Bulgaria and in isolated places along the Black Sea. In the second half of this period, the sun will be more generous, although in the morning it will be foggy in hollows, lowlands and along reservoirs.
The cold will relax the country around February 12 – at the very end of this week and the beginning of next week. Temperatures in the daytime will rise in some areas to 8-10 degrees. Immediately after, a short period of colder air intrusion, more cloud cover and rain and snow falls.
