The weather next week: – The winter shock over

Winter and spring alternate, suddenly in the north, then in the south – the weather month of March does not deny itself.

– Bright blue sky without a cloud here in Tromsø, reports on-duty state meteorologist Pernille Borander at the Meteorological Institute’s department for Northern Norway on Thursday.

At the same moment made the snow down over already snow-covered cars in Oslo, the wind was so strong in the mountains that many mountain passes between east and west were closed.

And the coast along Agder and Rogaland is at its wettest. Both Kjevik / Kristiansand and Obrestad lighthouse have received over 50 millimeters of rain in the course of a day. The wettest has been at Eik-Hove in Lund municipality in Rogaland with 71 millimeters of rain in a few hours.

Spring sign Friday

The state meteorologist on duty comes with a near-guarantee to the majority of those who experienced sudden winter shock in the south and east:

– The signs of spring are back already on Friday. Then the precipitation has subsided. It looks pretty nice all over the country until March to be. There will be some flashes of sun here and there as well, says Borander.

And it seems to be from zero to a few plus degrees all the way south of Tromsø. From there and north it will be minus degrees.

– Now before the weekend, it looks like precipitation-free all over southern Norway all next week. It depends on how a high pressure moves further down in Europe. If it goes further south than what we see now, yes, then low pressure from the west will force itself with precipitation, says the state meteorologist.

Here it is mostly snow

– Do you have enough data now to see something about the Easter weather?

– It’s too early. For the time being, the horizon here is March 23, the guard says.

The amounts of snow now give at least a warning of opportunities for traditional ski ash in the height.

The four measuring stations with the most snow per. Thursday: Lyngen, Troms 206 centimeters, Haukeliseter, Telemark / Vestland 126, Lifjell, Telemark 118 and Røldal, Vestland 111 centimeters.

The country’s largest cottage municipality is Ringsaker in Hedmark / Innlandet.

Snow status in the ski and cabin center there just over two weeks before Easter: 108 centimeters.
