Soft white grains fell from the sky over Plovdiv and in a matter of minutes the city turned white.
According to connoisseurs, the precipitation in question is called sugrashita and is spherical white soft and easily crushed grains with a diameter of 1-3 mm.
The meteorological phenomenon was accompanied by a strong wind that blew the snowflakes.
Snow or ice sleet forms in clouds with high velocity updrafts. In such cases, if supercooled water droplets accumulate and freeze on small snowflakes, a snowdrift is formed. It represents falling snow, in the form of small white opaque grains. The ice cube is a grain with an opaque white core surrounded by a transparent layer of ice.
In most parts of the world, snow falls only for a short period of time and does not accumulate in large quantities. However, it melts significantly more slowly than snow of the same volume.
According to the weather forecast, snowfall is again expected in Plovdiv at 6 p.m.
