Russia and Belarus will respond to the expansion of NATO forces at their borders, Reuters reports via the state-run Russian news agency Tass.
“Together with Belarusian allies, we must respond to the military strengthening of NATO forces on the borders of the Union State and the Collective Security Pact,” Russian Foreign Ministry diplomat Alexei Polishchuk told Tass.
The State of the Union and the Collective Security Pact are alliances Russia has entered into with several former Soviet republics. Russia and Belarus make up the Union State.
