Champions last June, the Warriors will come to meet US President Joe Biden at the White House. The visit would be scheduled for January 17, when the Dubs arrive in Washington to take on the Wizards.
It’s an established tradition in the NBA and many other American sports. The winner of the last Scudetto visits the White House and receives the praise of the American president. A ceremonial visit that had known a lull during Donald Trump’s tenure. In open conflict with several NBA stars (Stephen Curry and LeBron James in particular), mainly due to his political positions, the POTUS had not received any visitors. Not by the Warriors, not even by the Raptors.
His departure in 2020 had allowed tradition to be restored, even if the Lakers were unable to come due to COVID. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks were received in November 2021 following their coronation. Now it’s the turn of Stephen Curry’s Warriors. Traveling to Washington on the 16th to face the Wizards, the Dubs will visit Joe Biden the next day, January 17, the San Francisco Chronicle.

Joe Biden has crossed paths with the Warriors before. As Vice President of Barack Obama, he was present during the passing of the champions after their 2015 title. It is this time in the great suit that he will honor Stephen Curry and his band. The Chef was also delighted to return to the White House and be able to celebrate the title one last time.
Curry today: “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a last chance to celebrate our championship last year before we put it all in the rear view on what’s to come with the rest of the year. https://t.co/nDEDhGk6a0

“I can’t wait to be there. It’s one last chance to celebrate our championship from last year before we put it all behind us for the rest of the year.”
The Warriors are heading to the White House in ten days to meet the POTUS and celebrate their 2022 title one last time. That will likely motivate them a little more to go back-to-back this season.
