The Golden State Warriors were ranked for the first time in the past two decades as the NBA’s Most Valuable Team with $ 7 trillion, media reported Forbes.
The defending champion advances to the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers respectively. Both franchises had exchanged first place from the last 2,000.
New Yorkers fall to second place with an estimated $ 6.1 billion; followed by the Los Angeles Lakers (5.9 billion); Chicago Bulls ($ 4.1 billion) and Boston Celtics ($ 4 billion).
For its part, returning to the Warriors, the Oakland franchise holds several records in terms of economic performance:
- During the 2021-22 campaign they generated the highest income (765 million net)
- Increase in operating profit (206 million)
- They raised $ 150 million in sports sponsorship and advertising in their pavilion.
- They’ve earned more than $ 250 million for premium seats at the Chase Center.
Another fact to take into consideration regarding the good moment that the NBA is going through is that the average value of the franchises has risen to 2,680 million dollars, 15% more than last year’s data. The league returned to pre-COVID-19 records, surpassing $ 1.3 billion in team-level sponsorships and advertising last year.
