3,203,455 euros. That’s how much De Warmste Week, solidarity action VRT, was able to collect.

With request records, various promotions and exclusive concerts for a limited audience by Ed Sheeran and Angèle, a nice amount has been collected. Last year no money was raised, but you could donate your time to various charities. In 2019, no less than 17,518,153 euros was raised for 2,088 different charities. A year earlier, that amount was slightly lower: 17,286,122 euros. In 2017, 10,846,566 million euros were raised.
The money will go to two hundred projects, all of which can be accommodated under this year’s theme ‘Being who you are’. This ranges from guiding assistance dogs, youth movements for children with disabilities to walking trips for young people with psychological vulnerability, help after the floods in Wallonia and a giant tablet for people with dementia. It had been ten years ago that De Warmste Week/Music For Life collected money for one specific theme.
The closing show started with a Christmas-themed dance by the winners of Belgium’s got talent, the Mini-droids. Siska Schoeters talked it all together and looked back with radio presenters Sander Gillis, Fien Germijns and Joris Brys, but also with reporters Flo Windey, Laura Govaerts and DWW ambassadors Gloria Monserez, Kawtar Ehlalouch and Stéphan Tanganagba. The latter chose the theme in July. It is Ehlalouch who announced the amount.
