The war on terror has cost enormously. What did the United States get back?

After big brother Jimmy was killed, little brother Joe Quinn wanted revenge.

The images from the attacks of September 11, 2001 made him furious.

He was ready to defend the United States. He was ready for war.

“I believed everything the president said. Why should I not? ”

Then he got to see the price of war with his own eyes.

——

Joe collapsed on the floor in front of the TV.

Michael hit the wall until his knuckles were cut and bloody.

The two were in their respective places, but realized the same thing: They would probably never see Jimmy again.

The middle of the three brothers was at work on the 104th floor in the northernmost of the two Twin Towers on the morning of September 11, 2001.

He was one of several hundred people caught at the top of the tower when five terrorists crashed a large passenger plane into the building a few floors below.

– When I saw the tower collapse, I realized that he was not here anymore, says Joe Quinn.

The anger and the desire for revenge came only after a while. At first he was most frustrated – from the fact that he could not help his brother when he needed it most.

Jimmy was asthmatic and had an extreme fear of heights.

– I imagine that he struggles to breathe in a room full of smoke. That he looks down at the ground and has to make the choice between jumping or burning to death. There are pictures that have haunted me until today, says Quinn.
