The war in Ukraine will not end in 2023

The publication published a forecast that reads as follows: “The war in Ukraine will last all year. Neither Kiev nor Moscow will agree to freeze the conflict.”

“The conditions for concluding a ceasefire, let alone a formal peace deal, are unlikely to be met in 2023. The freezing of current positions will satisfy neither Russia nor Ukraine. President Zelensky cannot accept a ceasefire, leaving Ukraine without territory lost after Russia’s invasion in February, plus occupied Donbass and Crimea captured in 2014. Recovering this territory would require weapons, which the West seems unwilling to supply.” predicts the newspaper.
