The War in Ukraine: Scenarios for its End After Putin’s Death

Journalist Igor Yakovenko recalled his recent statement that after Putin’s death the war will end immediately.

Patrushev, if he takes the post of President of the Russian Federation, will not continue the war in Ukraine, because he, as the head of state with a destroyed economy, will have no time for this, said Igor Yakovenko. There are several scenarios for a quick end to the war, where one of the most obvious is the death of the head of the Kremlin.

Igor Yakovenko’s interview for the “Novin Factory” can be viewed on the channel YouTube.

The Russian journalist listed those scenarios for the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine that seem to him the most realistic: “This skating rink has been launched, and Putin will no longer be able to stop it. It can be stopped either by death, or by some kind of displacement of Putin, although how is not yet very clear, or simply by a catastrophic defeat of Russia, as a result of which Russia will simply cease to exist as a single state. These are the scenarios for stopping the war and there simply won’t be any others.”

After this, the Russian public figure answered the question of which of the voiced scenarios seems to him the most promising: “Yes, I see. Let’s list the prospects. The physical death of Putin. Possible? Possible. Putin is not a very young man, and therefore I understand perfectly well, as a person of approximately the same age category, that, as the classic said in such cases, a person is not only mortal, but he is suddenly mortal. This is a completely possible option. Putin will die and the war will stop. For me this is an axiom“.

Earlier, Yakovenko named someone who will immediately end the war when he takes Putin’s place.

Meanwhile, Yakovenko called an event after which “the war will simply stop.”
