Former FSB colonel and Russian army officer Igor Girkin continues to rail against Russia’s weak war in Ukraine.
Girkin is a war advocate and hopes Russia wins, but he writes on Telegram on Monday that Russia’s military effort in Ukraine is so bad that he fears both for his life and for Russia’s future. He writes Danish television 2.
– I’m in hell. I’m not whining or complaining now. When they break through the front, I take my rifle, put on my bulletproof vest and try to kill someone before I die, writes Girkin.

He believes that Ukraine, which has promised him a $100,000 bounty, will kill him.

Girkin does not believe at all that Russia will be successful in Ukraine and believes that the next Ukrainian offensive will be very deadly.

In early December, Girkin came out and said that Russian officers are unhappy with President Vladimir Putin and other military leaders due to war misconduct.
He believes that the Russian military needs big changes and more competent people.
– It’s not just me. People in the military are not blind or deaf. Those in the middle of the scale aren’t afraid to speak their minds and aren’t very nice to the president or defense secretary, Girkin said.

Igor Girkin is a former colonel in the Russian FSB security service who led the separatists in Ukraine in 2014.
Girkin became a prominent figure in Russian defense already during the annexation of the Crimea peninsula in 2014, when he was central during Putin’s first invasion of Ukraine. At the time, he figured in a leadership role and became known for, among other things, his ruthless brutality.
Dutch authorities have also issued an international arrest warrant for Girkin on charges of being one of those who shot down Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine in 2014.
On that occasion he was accused of war crimes. He has since denied that Russian nationalists shot down the plane.
