Russians will answer for themselves that the country is ruled by an old dictator and tyrant, said the political analyst
A coup in the next 12 months is very possible, Galyamov believes
“The war is already lost. The Russian economy is collapsing,” said former Putin speechwriter and political analyst Abbas Galyamov.
Galyamov gave an interview to CNN and said that he is convinced that the Russians will look for a culprit for the huge military losses on the battlefield and the economic crisis caused by Western sanctions.
“More and more soldiers are returning in coffins from the battlefield. Russians will look for an explanation for what is happening and will answer for themselves that the country is ruled by an old dictator and tyrant,” he added, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The political analyst even predicted a military coup in the next 12 months.
“The political situation has changed. Putin is no longer so popular, so is the war, and I think a coup is something very possible,” he commented.
According to Galyamov, it is very likely that Putin will cancel the presidential elections in Russia, which should be held in March 2024.
“Putin has already lost, judging by his actions. Many difficulties await him if he does not defeat Ukraine. Russians do not need him if he is not strong. It is possible that he will declare a state of emergency and cancel the elections,” the former author believes of the speeches of the Russian president.
