The war in Ukraine – Filmed everything

For two weeks, the Ukrainian paramedic and doctor Juliia Paievska (53) filmed the horrific scenes that have taken place in the war-torn port city of Mariupol.

In total, the doctor filmed about 256 gigabytes of the work she and the team did to save people from death, before the memory card was hidden in a tampon and smuggled out of the war zone.

The memory card was then handed over to journalists from the international news agency AP, writes Sky News.

Before that, the memory card must have passed as many as 15 Russian checkpoints, before it finally reached territory controlled by the Ukrainians.

Captured

The day after the videos were smuggled out and handed over, on March 16, Paievska is said to have disappeared.

According to Sky News, she has been captured by Russian forces. No one else should have seen the 53-year-old after this, the media house writes.

Russian authorities claim that Paievska belongs The Azov Regiment, part of the Ukrainian National Guard that has been central to the Ukrainians’ fight against the Russians in Mariupol since 2014. The soldiers have been very active in publishing photos and videos of the Russians’ acts of war.

However, there should be no evidence that the doctor belongs to these forces or has links to the regiment.

– Propaganda

The doctor’s husband, Vadim Puzanov, tells AP that he is not familiar with how his wife is doing.

He is, however, reacting to what appear to be Russian allegations about Paievska.

– Accusing a doctor of all deadly sins, including organ smuggling, is ceasing propaganda, but I do not know who it is not for.
