The Wanubida company returns to Roanne with its burlesque show La tournée du facteur

The Wanubida company offers a poetic show for young and old alike: the tour of a somewhat unusual postman, which takes place to the rhythm of musicians, clowns and acrobats.

They are eight artists and a stage manager, all driven by the same grain of madness and love of the circus. The Wanubida company returns to Roanne, that of the Jardins communs d’Entrepote, rue Hoche in Roanne, with its show The postman’s round.

A mix of traditional circus and burlesque theatre

A poetic and absurd circus, from the will of all the members of the collective. “It’s a show that resembles us. It mixes traditional circus, with its acrobats, clowns and jugglers, with burlesque theater and music played in live by musicians,” they assure.

Last year, spectators were already able to happily discover the tribulations of a clumsy postman struggling with his eventful tour. They will delight, starting this weekend, in the same comedy, however reworked with the inspirations of the moment. On the stage of the big top, colorful characters and situations will parade, for more than an hour.

This show is an ode to maintaining social ties with its good and bad sides. A succession of broken faces, pirouettes and love; of accordion and falls.

“The postman begins his daily rounds. What does this disappearing figure represent? This show is an ode to maintaining social ties with its good and bad sides. A succession of broken faces, pirouettes and love; of accordion and falls. Ultimately, isn’t that what life is all about?” ask the members of the company.

This show is an opportunity to discover different characters, including, of course, the postman. “In creating my character, I was very inspired by François, the postman in the film Feast day by Jacques Tati,” reveals Corentin, the actor wearing the postman’s hat.

The scene does not stop at the spectator benches

The interaction between artists and spectators is constant. “We like to reach out to the audience and we wait for a reaction from them to feed our own game,” Corentin explains. The result is a bit of improvisation that enchants actors and spectators alike.

The Wanubida collective therefore invites the people of Roanne to come and discover, or rediscover, its entertainment from this Friday, September 27 at 7 p.m. “There are two possible interpretations of the show, so young and old will enjoy it just as much,” the members of the company assure in unison.
