The speakers will resonate again in the Combe à la Serpent park, near Dijon (Côte-d’Or). the VYV Festival has set up its stage for four days of festivities from this Thursday, September 2. “As an organizer, it’s a relief. We have been trying to release this second edition for almost two years!“, declares Pierre Clément, director of the cultural event. After the cancellation of the event in 2020, the postponement of the edition from June 2021 to September, the festival was finally spread over four days instead of two, for overcome the uncertainties concerning the health situation.

In 18 months, it is not a festival, a second edition that we have organized, but four festivals with the various postponements and cancellations. For our programmer, each time everything had to be rebuilt with international artists who could no longer come.“, testifies the director of the VYV Festival.

Programming for all generations

Leading artists of the current music scene, a journey aimed at highlighting social and solidarity initiatives: despite this particular context, the VYV Festival wants to remain faithful to its objectives. “We wish bring together festival-goers of all generations while raising awareness of social action“, indicates Pierre Clément. The program promises to be eclectic. Installed artists such as IAM, Benjamin Biolay or Catherine Ringer will rub shoulders with rising stars such as Pomme or Hervé. This year, the Path of the Beautiful Days will invite spectators to discover 40 social initiatives from the region or elsewhere.

This new edition will be more “intimate“, details the director of the festival: against three stages in 2019, there will be only one.”It’s an evil for a good“, tempers Pierre Clément,”This leads us to work on a significantly different edition, particularly with regard to the wandering of festival-goers. Our goal is to bring a whole universe of social engagement to life at the center of the festival, but it’s easier when you go from one stage to another, because you cross the ‘village’. We had to work on another location and create areas of attractiveness that push the viewer to be curious and to leave his stage..”

While ticket sales have just started to take off since the start of the week, Pierre Clément hopes that spectators will be there. “We want to tell the public that these are just promises. That’s it, we’re on the set, we’ve set up a festival! It’s for you, go for it!
