“On behalf of the festival organizers, I can express my greatest gratitude to the participants of the campaign and at the same time admire their responsiveness and ingenuity,” said Diāna Čivle, the artistic director of the festival “Staro Rīga”. “Both the institutions with the lighting of their buildings during the national holidays and individual people with various homemade light objects and designs, not only from Riga, joined the campaign with the theme # in the brilliant social networks. Light and radiation unite us all in this dark time of year. It seems that such an action, not only in today’s limited possibilities, but also in the future can be a part of the festival “Staro Riga” and is a great way to strengthen the common sense of a bright holiday with patriotic self-expression. “

The organizers of the light festival “Staro Rīga” hope for the improvement of the epidemiological situation and meeting with everyone in person at the light festival already at the end of January.

The festival “Staro Rīga” has been moved from the usual mid-November dates to the end of the Latvian centenary program in January 2021 from January 27 to 30.
