The vote by district: “We continue the change” took key areas of GERB and deleted “There is such a people” from the map – Elections 2021

The unexpected winner of the parliamentary elections – “We continue the change” – is in first place in almost half of the constituencies in Bulgaria, completely displacing the favorite from July – “There are such people” and taking away significant areas from GERB. This is shown by the data from the voting in the country in the early parliamentary elections on November 14, with 100% or almost 100% of the polling protocols processed.

After their poor results in the third vote of the year for the National Assembly, the BSP and “Democratic Bulgaria” remain without a victory in any area. The seventh participant in the parliament – “Vazrazhdane” is in the same position. The MRF retains all the areas where it was the leading force four months ago.

Trifonov’s victories and GERB’s pride

“We continue the change” wins all eight districts that Slavi Trifonov’s party managed to boast of in July – Montana, Pleven, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Dobrich, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Yambol. They all change their favorite for the third time since April (see map).

In addition, Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev won several landmark regions for GERB, the so-called leading 25th district in Sofia, where the leader of the list was the party leader and former prime minister Boyko Borissov, Burgas and Varna, whose mayors the former rulers have been proud of for several terms. In Varna, the results are 74.51% processed, as “We continue the change” leads with 29.08% against 26.72% for GERB, so change is still possible.

After in April and July it managed to become the first power in two of the capital’s districts – 23rd and 24th, now “Democratic Bulgaria” remains only in third place in them. The leader there is “We continue the change”, and the lists were led by the leaders Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev. The two also win in the cities where they lead the second list – Plovdiv-city and Haskovo, respectively.

The former ruling GERB party remains second with 12 won regional cities, four fewer than in July. The movement retains its traditional positions in Kardzhali, Razgrad, Targovishte and Silistra.

For a few hundred votes less

In absolute votes, “There is such a people” lost over 400 thousand votes. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), with 99.51 per cent of the section protocols processed, Slavi Trifonov’s party received 247,586 votes compared to 657,829 four months ago. However, the extremely low turnout should be taken into account when counting the absolute votes – the CEC has not yet announced data, but according to sociologists it is about 39%.

“Democratic Bulgaria” dropped by more than 180,000 votes, while the BSP lost to 100,000. Only the MRF added support compared to the previous elections – the movement caught up with more than 40,000 votes from its weak result in July.

“We continue the change” ends its first election campaign with nearly 670 thousand votes, and according to sociologists they came mostly from the previous supporters of “There is such a people”, “Stand up. BG! We are coming!” and “Democratic Bulgaria”.
