After the final separation from Polestar, Volvo is quickly catching up on the loss in the development of new electric cars. Currently confirmed the name of the new EX60 mid-range electric SUV, although it did not provide any other official information. However, it is supposed to be a “huge impulse and fundamental change”. But we already know that the future Volvo XC60 will arrive in 2026 and will be the first model on the brand new SPA3 platform. It was created by an extensive redesign of the existing SPA2, which was introduced only last year in the Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3 models, and theoretically it can be used for models smaller than the existing EX30 and, conversely, larger than the EX90. It also offers much greater scalability in terms of price, regions or production volumes. In the future, all new Volvos are also expected to share the same technology.

This means the use of the new technology package Volvo Cars Superset, which includes individual hardware and software modules, from which new models will be created as a kit. Faster, more efficient and cheaper than before. The first model to emerge from this imaginary kit is the upcoming EX90 large SUV, followed by the ES90 electric sedan due next year.
