The Volume of Homecoming Traffic in 2022 on the Trans-Java Toll Road is the Highest in History

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The traffic volume (traffic) in 2022 on the Trans-Java Toll Road is the highest in the history of Lebaran homecoming in Indonesia.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded the highest record of the highest traffic volume on toll roads occurred on D-3 Lebaran 1443 H/2022 or on Friday (29/4/2022).

On that day, as many as 105,016 vehicles were recorded to have left Jabotabek heading East (Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, and surrounding areas) via Trans Java Toll Roadthrough GT Cikampek UtamaJakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

This number jumped to 165.5 percent from normal traffic for the November 2021 period of 39,554 vehicles.

This figure is the highest traffic volume in the period commuting flow throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Indonesia so far.

This number even managed to break the previous record that occurred during the Lebaran 1441 H/2019 homecoming period.

At that time, Jasa Marga also recorded the highest record of serving the traffic volume during the homecoming flow heading east, via GT Cikampek Utama. It was recorded that there were 103,077 vehicles leaving Jabotabek

Jasa Marga’s Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru explained, to serve road users optimally, Jasa Marga operates operating substations up to twice the normal traffic conditions.

“We are maximizing the capacity of the toll gate to serve the increased traffic volume at GT Cikampek Utama, which operates a total of 30 transaction lanes and adds 4 mobile readers in tandem,” said Dwimawan.

According to him, the implementation of this year’s homecoming service cannot be separated from collaboration with the Police, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and other relevant stakeholders.
