Volkswagen launches pre-sale of fast models Arteon R and Arteon Shooting Brake R. How much does it cost?

Fast versions of both body variants of the Arteon model, which were modernized last autumn, rely on a turbocharged two-liter with the designation EA888 evo4.
The fourth generation of this unit provides the highest output of 235 kW between 5350 and 6500 min-1, the maximum torque of 420 Nm gives from 2100 to 5350 min-1. The most powerful Arteon can only be had with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Volkswagen reports a combined fuel consumption of 7.7 and 7.9 l / 100 km (NEDC).
Both body versions can accelerate from rest to a hundred in 4.9 seconds and in the next take-off they will be stopped by the limiter at 250 km / h. However, customers can pay extra for the R-Performance package, which shifts the maximum to 270 km / h.

Arteon R and Arteon Shooting Brake R are standardly equipped by the manufacturer with a specifically adjusted chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers, all-wheel drive with the R-Performance Torque Vectoring system then offers the function of selective distribution of driving force between individual wheels. Tires have also been developed especially for R models.
You can recognize the fastest variant at a glance by other bumpers (front with air intakes, rear with diffuser), matt chrome mirror covers, R-Performance brake systems with blue calipers or trapezoidal metal exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, you’ll find seats upholstered in black ArtVelours fabric with the “R” logo on the front backrests, a sports multifunction steering wheel with large levers for manual shifting of the DSG transmission, or carbon-style aluminum decors. There is also a characteristic blue stitching for “erk” models. Sports seats with integrated head restraints appear among the extras.
And the prices? The classic Arteon R starts at CZK 1,536,900, the stylish Shooting Brake R station wagon starts at CZK 1,561,900.
