“Mingxuan Track” is exciting and cruel
The “Mingxuan Track” opened up more opportunities for students to show their stage performance. Singing and dancing, bands, visual music and other forms can be directly seen by the instructor. In the newly added “Mingxuan Track”, the trainees will face-to-face with the instructor as soon as they come out. During the performance, if the instructor thinks that the student is not suitable for joining his team, he can choose to switch back by pressing the button; if one of the instructors does not press the button to switch back after the performance, the student will enter the mentor’s team;
When they heard that in the “Mingxuan Track”, the instructors could turn around to show their refusal, the four instructors were all surprised. Wilber Pan commented on the new competition system as “exciting and cruel”, and urged the students in advance to muster up their courage and prepare a big heart. Xue Zhiqian bluntly said, “It’s actually a bit sad to turn around.” Liu Xianhua put himself in the position of a student, saying that if he faced this situation, he wondered if he could continue to perform. As someone who has experienced it, Zhou Huajian gave a message to young students to “be indifferent to winning or losing, and choose bravely”.
“Singer’s voice” is still the core criterion for mentor selection. Zhou Huajian described singers as “actors of voice”, and his selection criteria is “whether they can express their true feelings”. Xue Zhiqian said that if he meets an original singer with good writing and can convince him, he will definitely try his best to fight for it. Wilber Pan said: “The world of music is so big and wide, I think the distinction between so-called music types is just for the convenience of giving it a name, but music is music.”
The program group adjusted the height, drop, length and audience position of the stage this year, so that the audience can better integrate into the stage design. In addition, this year, the extra-long ground screen and sky screen were adopted to create a stage effect similar to that of a runway, making the stage depth more obvious. In addition, different track choices correspond to different colors, and the audience can predict the performance of the students in advance from the main visual color.

The four instructors of this season are not only the youngest combination in the history of the program, but also the pioneering addition of the “Mingxuan Track” makes the program competition system more able to show the diverse music styles of contemporary young people and embrace the music attitude of young people. Wilber Pan, who has lost 16 pounds, reproduced the vacating action on the stage of “My Microphone” 20 years ago with the joint help of the other three mentors.
