They do not shy away from the most challenging up-tempo songs by world stars such as Adele and Billie Eilish, and even French tunes by Céline Dion are not deterred. Here are the highlights from the second episode.
Parties are being thrown on stage, a tear is shed here and there, and for some there is even a well-deserved standing ovation from the coaches in the offing. One thing is certain: if Pommelien and Coely really auditioned, we would immediately be left with a four-turner. How fun is their version of Rihanna’s ‘Stay’?
Céleste (9) has one big dream: to win ‘The Voice Kids’ or to become as famous a singer as CAMILLE or Pommelien. On weekends she serves as an altar boy. “The best part is that you can see the pastor up close,” she laughs. ‘She sings Sweet Dreams’ by Eurythmics. Metejoor has been playing for so much cuteness for some time now: “The Lord has seen you – that’s me – Welcome to team Metejoor!”
So brave. Ezra (14) chooses ‘Space Man’ by Sam Ryder. A song packed with high notes during the choruses. And what a success! It even earns him a standing ovation. Ezra cherishes the dream of becoming a singer and practices every day to make that dream come true. All four coaches work for him, but he ultimately chooses Metejoor.
Lyana (10) loves pizza, salami and singing. She is originally from Italy and participates because singing is her biggest dream. She had to wait a long time, but is now finally on the stage of ‘The Voice Kids’. For her Blind Audition she rocks the studio with ‘Flowers’ by Miley Cyrus. Unfortunately, Lyana goes home without a coach and seems inconsolable for a moment, until she gets a big hug from Metejoor.
