The Voice coaches moved by Soufiane’s ‘enchanting’ audition

Soufiane is thrilled when he enters the studio with his parents and two proud sisters. He explains that he really wants to get in touch with people who enjoy the same things as he does: singing. He has been doing it himself for about two years now. “I am in pre-university education and want to become a surgeon or a teacher, but I think it would be best to become a singer,” he says. “You then involve all kinds of people in your music and that seems like the most fun.”

Well, and the latter, he can. He has not yet started the song ‘I love me’ when Sanne is already playing. The rest of the coaches will also follow soon. They are clearly impressed by the performance of the 13-year-old, who knows how to convey the song flawlessly and with full conviction.

“It was enchanting”, says Ilse afterwards. “You are really telling a story. You are a natural and one of the top artists we can have here.” Ali also wants Soufiane only too happy in his team. “You are exceptional!” He says that when he was as old as Soufiane, he was looking for someone to whom he could relate to. “I found Najib Amhali and I thought, wow, there might be a place for me. I’m sure you’ll be the next to give hope to children in the Netherlands with our ethnic background.”

Sanne was blown away from the very first second by the voice of the young artist. “I’m very honest, I really had tears,” she says of the Tabitha song that is in The Best Singers was nominated to Sanne. “She sang that for me, but the way you sing it is even better. I am very touched again and that is what music is all about, wherever you come from”, she says visibly moved. “If it hits me, I’ll keep fighting for you. I’m already doing that.”

When a little later he decides to go on an adventure with her, she hits him again. “I’m already a fan! I like it that way fucking cool. “
