Jarle Bernhoft-Sjødin (46) unleashes his talents safely through exciting and challenging musical antics in “The Voice” on TV 2.
The Nittedal man himself stands firmly in a successful career and a secure and good marriage. But he can thank his wife for being married.
His girlfriend’s name is Lisa Bernhoft-Sjødin (41), and they have been married since 2010. Lisa used, to put it mildly, non-traditional means when her boyfriend hinted that he was not so keen on being forged in Hymen’s chains.
Opens up about marriage
– Jarle said he wasn’t going to marry. I wanted to get married, and had to get him in a very vulnerable place, so that he would have to say yes. So I made a plan. When the time and place were right, I dressed naked for him – and proposed, Lisa told Se og Hør.

Desire for children
After they became real husband and wife, the sons Samuel (12) and Benjamin (5) announced their arrival. And it had been a dream for Jarle for a long time.
Couldn’t afford new clothes
– I have wanted children since I was 17 years old. When I first became a father, it was still a shock. At the same time, it was very productive for me. I had quite a lot of papa perm and learned to become both efficient and economical over time, Bernhoft has previously stated to Dagbladet.
– It became very focused songwriting. “Solidarity Breaks” is in a way as much Samuel’s record as mine, he added.

“Solidarity Breaks” was Jarle’s undoubted breakthrough as a solo artist. The record earned him both the title “Spellman of the Year” and “Best Male Artist” at the Spellemannprisen 2011.
– I want to thank Lisa and Samuel. You make me a slightly better person, Jarle said in his acceptance speech – and later extended his praise to both the family and the welfare state.
Leave brought peace
– I have a lot to thank the Norwegian welfare system for. While I was taking walks with Samuel, I had time to think. And when he fell asleep, I wrote down what I had thought. The father’s leave gave me a peace of mind which resulted in me releasing this album, he told Se og Hør.
– We are planning a wedding
The children only continue to inspire the Grammy-nominated musician. He shares the credit for the song “Call Our Kids” from 2021 with Samuel.
– This is Samuel. The little man, the myth and the legend, writes papa Jarle on his Instagram account – under a mildly charming video of the singing charmer with papa’s inherited curls.

Beautiful and cheeky
His wife Lisa is also praised, and he gets good compliments in return. When Se og Hør asked her to describe her husband after the smash success at the Spellemannprisen 2011, the answer was clear:
– Beautiful. Excited. Cheeky (cheeky). And with a special ability to dance his feelings, Lisa said – not surprised that Jarle danced his own acceptance speech.
– No, I’ve seen that before!
