To update [Sun 28th Feb, 2021 09:45 GMT]: Earlier this month, Tails’ voice, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, said she would not play the character in the upcoming Netflix series Sonic Prime.
At the time, fans expressed their concerns about her possible role change. In an update on Twitter, Colleen has informed fans that she is not done yet. Here’s his brief exchange with a fan, confirming it’s not over (via The Sonic Stadium):

In the same series of tweets, Colleen reconfirmed that she would not be participating in Sonic Prime:

Last week, we heard how longtime Sonic’s voice, Roger Craig Smith, would leave the role after more than a decade. Now in the latest update, Tails’ voice, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, has confirmed that, unfortunately, he will not be playing Miles Prower in the upcoming Netflix series Sonic Prime.

Fans, as you may have realized by now, have voiced their concerns on social media that she might as well move on.
O’Shaughnessey began as the voice of Tails in 2014, working on the animated series Sonic Boom. He also appeared as Tails (spoiler alert) in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, but it has not been confirmed if he will reprise his role in the 2022 follow-up.
This latest Sonic update is the continuation of the news about two veteran Sonic writers, who seem to be no longer working with Sega.
