This Saturday, February 12, TF1 broadcast the first episode of the 11th season of The Voice. From behind the scenes, the surprise coach, Nolwenn Leroy, saved his very first talent from the adventure: Jean Palau.
The Voice 2022, here we go! This Saturday, February 12, TF1 officially launched the eleventh season of its star tele-hook with a huge novelty: the presence of a fifth coach, Nolwenn Leroy. From behind the scenes, the singer attended all the evening performances with one rule in mind: the possibility of picking up a talent on which Florent Pagny, Vianney, Amel Bent and Marc Lavoine did not return. And if the former Star Academy candidate has seen many singers pass, she allowed one of them to continue her dream. Shocked by Jean Palau’s performance and story, Nolwenn Leroy decided to take him on to her team. In The Voice, the 39-year-old farmer interpreted the title Rise like a phœnixwhich Conchita Wurst had sung at Eurovision.
In tears, the singer wanted to give him a second chance. “I felt this phoenix from the start”, she explained, after pressing her buzzer. A real boon for Jean Palau, who had burst into tears behind the scenes after the four coaches explained to him why they had not chosen him for the adventure The Voice. “I took a blow to the head. (…) The coaches told me that it was not serious, that I was going to continue, but I told myself that, in real life, this is not what was going to happen: I will go back to the farm and I will resume my daily life”told the farmer to 20 Minuteswho finally “succeeded in resuming [s]are spirits”. At the time, Jean Palau was not informed of the Nolwenn Leroy buzz. He only learned it “a few days later”back in the Pyrenees where he lives with her husband.
Jean Palau: “Nolwenn was a very good meeting”
“I had the impression of entering an incredible emotional elevator. (…) I was taken by a crazy joy, by the excitement and by the anguish to tell me that I had to get back into the adventure”he remembered, honored to be the first of the four talents who will accompany the surprise coach in The Voice. Like the other artists of the first show, Jean Palau will therefore participate in the battles, the next stage of tele hook. And the singer and the coach got along very well. “Nolwenn was a very nice meeting, and I think she was as afraid as we were to meet, because it was her debut in The Voiceconfided Jean Palau in the columns of Gala. I felt someone humanly like me. A lot of things come through the eyes with her, and there were some really strong moments.”
