Last week, the National Center for Organized Crime requested information from companies that supplied medical supplies during an emergency. The Ministry of Health did not escape the inspections either. The police also intervened in the company Batist Medical, which the Ministry of Health paid over one hundred million crowns for protective equipment.

“Police officers requested relevant information on supplies for the Ministry of Health, these were mainly purchase contracts we have with the ministry and documents related to it,” Batist Medical director Tomáš Mertlík told Novinka. According to him, order checks are logical.

According to the Seznam news server, which came up with information about the inspections on Thursday, the police also checked other companies. However, for example, the company Adler Czech, as, which was the second largest supplier of medical supplies for the Ministry of Health, did not confirm any police checks to the News. “It simply came to our notice then. We have the contract published in the register of contracts, we have no problems with the police, “said company spokeswoman Marie Logrová.

Batist Medical was one of the first suppliers of medical supplies to the Ministry of Health. Back in March, the ministry bought FFP2 respirators from them for 844 crowns. At the same time, only a few days later, she managed to get the masks for 140 crowns. “We were probably the only ones who were able to provide the aids in such a short time,” commented Mertlík. According to him, the delivery included protective aids from various suppliers.

“The first delivery included eight different types of respirators from four suppliers. So there were respirators that cost 300 crowns, but also more expensive respirators, “commented Batist Medical, the director of the high price of respirators.

The company opened a third line for the production of drapes on Friday. He wants to have a fourth in operation by the end of the holidays. It would thus be able to produce up to ten million drapes per month, making it the largest production of drapes in Central Europe.
