Many people have a so-called long form of Covid, a variant of the disease that lasts for several months. A study conducted from a large cohort suggests that statistically, being convinced of having had Covid is more associated with “long Covid” -type symptoms than that of having actually contracted the virus.
To understand the stakes of this study published on November 8 in “JAMA” , remember that more than a month after contracting the Covid, some people continue to experience a variety of persistent symptoms such as chronic fatigue, shortness of breath and cognitive impairment. Promoted by the patients themselves, this persistent form of the disease was described as “long Covid”, without knowing whether it was really a new nosological entity.
