As tradition dictates, The Virgin of the Huertas is already in one of the parishes of the city of Lorca on the occasion of the City Fairs and FestivalsSpecifically, the patron saint of the municipality will be until the 29th at the church of San Joséwhich was accompanied by dozens of faithful. Leaving its sanctuary, and carried by the young men of the convent on one of the lighter thrones, the image traveled along the avenue that gives it its name, the Torta bridge and the avenues, to enter the town center. Along the way, the throne made several stops, highlighting those carried out in the churches of San Mateo, San Francisco and El Carmen, where the bells rang to celebrate the visit of the statue of Sánchez Lozano.

In this regard, it is worth noting that the Municipal Music Band accompanied the throne throughout the entire journey, which was bid farewell with a mass in the sanctuary and welcomed with another in San José. And there will be several masses celebrated in his honor throughout the week.This first Eucharist was officiated by the Vicar of Lorca, and enlivened by ‘Choruses and Dances of Lorca’. The events, which will continue throughout the week that the Virgin spends in San José, will be officiated by different parish priests of the City of the Sun.

Thus, the priests of San Cristóbal, El Carmen, Cristo Rey, San Diego, Virgen de las Huertas and San Patricio will pass through the parish of the San José neighborhood.
