The story of a netizen named Yulia Zahra from Pamulang, South Tangerang (Tangsel), has gone viral on TikTok social media because her face is one-sided. Through the video, Yulia tells that she can’t close one eye and her right lip is difficult to move.
Yulia’s videos on TikTok have been watched by millions of people and have received various responses. Some of them believe this woman is exposed to the wind too often, but there are also those who say the cause is a virus.
“When I went to the neurologist, they said it was Bell’s palsy and it tends to infect pregnant women a lot because I’m pregnant too,” said Yulia when contacted detik.comMonday (13/6/2022).
“The doctor said that the immunity of pregnant women is divided into two, for the baby and for the mother. Maybe because my immunity is still lacking and I have been hit by the AC and fan, the doctor said the fan was reduced. The position of my fan is also on the right side, so it just so happens that the part of my face that hurts is on the right,” he continued.

Experts suspect it is caused by swelling and inflammation of the nerves that control the muscles on one side of the face. This can be caused by a reaction that occurs after a viral infection.
In Yulia’s case, he admitted that he was still in the healing phase and was doing acupuncture treatment.
“The disease hasn’t healed in two months. I’ve had physiotherapy six times and it really takes a long time to heal… Many people recommend acupuncture, so I’m now having acupuncture, three times. It’s getting better,” explained Yulia.
