The new academic year of the “Vincenzo Bellisario of knowing at all ages” university was inaugurated at the Fenaroli theater, which starts again with over 350 students enrolled.
The association’s management – Valeria Cavacini (president), Angela Bianco (vice president), Paolo D’Orsogna Bucci (secretary), Giuseppe Bussolo (treasurer) and the councilors Flora de Giorgio, Concetta Folchi and Anna Giulia Menna – presented the program of the various activities and teachers of the 2024-25 academic year.
As many as 28 conferences have been scheduled with experts, including several professors from the d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, on various topics. The first is scheduled for Monday 28 October, in the Launch room of the former Casa di Conversazione, with the anthropologist Adriana Gandolfi; the other speakers will be Lucia Checchia (4 November), Costantino Felice (11 November), Nando Litterio (18 November), Filomena Di Renzo and Matteo Summa (25 November), Gianni Vassalli (2 December), Antonio Carlucci, Alessandra Rossi and Luigi Meddler (for the latter the dates are to be defined).
On December 9th there will be a guided tour of the city with Nicola D’Onofrio. At the end of the first cycle of conferences, on 16 December, the theater show “Parenti serpenti” will be held at the Fenaroli theater by the Amici della Ribalta. Reading groups, painting, yoga, dance and foreign language courses and physical activity are also planned.
During the ceremony at the Fenaroli theatre, the historic members were also awarded the “degree in loyalty”. Compared to last year, enrollment at Bellisario University has increased: those enrolled come not only from Lanciano but also from the municipalities of the district and some are in their early fifties.
