Galicia will begin this Thursday afternoon the vaccination of people between 50 and 55 years old with a massive administration pilot test that will take place in the Cidade da Cultura and to which 1,000 people from the health area of Santiago are summoned. The process will continue on Saturday with other 20,000 people of all areas, among them that of Vigo.
This was announced this Wednesday by the Councilor for Health, Julio García Comesaña, during a press conference to report on the issues discussed in the clinical committee. Specifically, the start of the campaign among Galicians between 50 and 55 years of age, to release vaccines from AstraZeneca, will start on the afternoon of this Thursday, when the Cidade da Cultura will host a mass vaccination pilot device to test both the appointment system and the process. For this, 1,000 people from the area are summoned.
With the results of this pilot and the necessary adjustments, on Saturday the vaccination of this group will continue with 20,000 people cited in all health areas. Doses will be administered in the regional hospitals in those areas with less population and in massive special devices in the rest.
Vaccination in the health area of Vigo will take place in the Ifevi. Is going to quote 4,400 people to administer the first dose. A team made up of almost 60 healthcare professionals -Nurse, TCAE and guards- who will work from 08:00 to 22:00.
The people summoned – starting with the letra H– will be cited through a SMS and later you will receive a phone call to confirm that they will attend the appointment. This pilot program tries to test the capacity of vaccinate in alternate spaces to conventional sanitary structures.
