For a weekend, the Vieux-Moulin school in Rochefort-du-Gard will turn into a real cinema set. The director, Julien Bernard, who grew up in this school, chose this location to shoot his third short film, entitled “Caught”, on February 6 and 7. A film which tells a little story in a playground where the game of the policeman and the thief turns out badly… “The idea for this film came to me because I am a young dad. And what worries me with the current events in which we live is that we tend to forget the children. Today they are sponges that soak up Covid-19, violence … The aim of the short film is therefore to show how our children are affected by what they see ”.

For the 33-year-old young man, who worked for a long time as a technician in the cinema, the idea of coming to shoot in the South had been in his mind for a while. “I find it a shame that in France everything happens in Paris when we have beautiful regions. We had tons of applications and everyone was fully into our project, it really reinforced my idea ”. The majority of the extras will be children from the Vieux-Moulin school and “more than 80% of the actors come from the region”, assures Julien Bernard. The film is produced by Sandgate Productions, notably as part of the Nikon Film Festival and will also be shown and sent to other festivals.
