A miner from Vietnam showed the preparation process for the sale of video cards that he previously used to mine cryptocurrencies. The video was posted on Twitter.
The owner of the video cards simply poured water from a pressure washer onto them. Furthermore, he hasn’t even started removing the devices from the farm box, let alone performing high-quality maintenance by analyzing and replacing the thermal paste with thermal pads. It is not known how long video cards will be able to function after that.
Miners mass sales of video cards began after Ethereum’s transition to the Proof-of-Stake model. Although many other cryptocurrencies can still be mined using GPU Computing, their profitability has dropped significantly, causing the farms to run at a loss.
