He is discussing this video of a medical student from Caserta who is harshly filmed by her professor during an exam. The student bursts into tears and her mother intervenes, hence a quarrel between her and the professor.
The people of social networks are divided. This is the opinion of Professor Guido Saraceni:
Now that we’ve all really seen the video of the medical student, after the first reaction (SHOCK) has passed, we can talk about it.
Three things.
1. A teacher in the exam has the task of judging the preparation of the students. He can fail – even many times – and he can pass. He can ask as many questions as he sees fit and ask each topic, detail or theme of the exam program. But whatever the student answers. I repeat: whatever responds. The teacher cannot scream and cannot fidget, because this is not part of his role. There must be no trace of bitterness in the judgment. Humiliating and educating are totally different things.
In my opinion, incompatible.
2. The mother can attend the exam (online), because the exam is public. But he can’t be in the same room – where he might even suggest – and it’s absurd for him to intervene that way.
3. No one is authorized to record the exam – practiced prohibited by the Regulations of all universities – nor, least of all, to broadcast the video, considerably aggravating the girl’s state of prostration.
Dear children, do not register and do not disclose: have respect, for yourself, for your University and for others.
