A video recording from security cameras shows the moment the package exploded. The leader’s secretary, Pamela Sousa, was not injured.
And package addressed to the president of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), Nicholas Pino, was sent to the entity’s headquarters and produced a burst upon opening it, in what that association identified as a attempted “attack” against the life of the leader. The SRA confirmed that the explosive delivered by mail was “homemade” preparation and sought to “attack” Pino’s life.

In the evening hours it was known that video from the moment of the explosion occurred in Pino’s secretary’s office, Pamela Sousa, at the entity’s headquarters, located at Juncal 4450 and Frey Santa María.
This is a record of the entity’s security cameras, in which Sousa is seen opening the package which was destined to end up in Pino’s hands. The film material allows us to see how it first comes out in it and then an explosion occurs.
Sousa was at her desk, accompanied by a colleague, when she decided to open the package. At that moment, a third person approached and leaned on the counter. Seconds later, the explosion that shocked those present.

Minutes after the incident, the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) released a statement with details of the attempted attack: “From the Sociedad Rural Argentina we inform that today at our Social Headquarters, We have received a package that when opened generated smoke, activating the security protocol of the building”.
“It should be noted that No one was injured and people who were in contact with the smoke were removed to a health center for proper monitoring. Given this situation, we alerted the public forces who are carrying out the corresponding operation throughout the building and conducting the relevant investigation,” they add in the text.
At the end of the statement, the organization expressed “reassurance to the families of the authorities and the work team, to the partners and to the citizens that we are all in perfect condition.”
