The Video Game Awards are an annual event where the best games of the year are chosen, but for many the highlight is new game trailers and revelations that are released as small drops throughout the show.
In the Game of the Year competition, games such as “Doom Eternal”, “Hades”, “Animal Crossing” and “The Last of Us Part II” competed, and it was the latter who ran away with the most generous prize.

Games, games and even more games
In addition to a bunch of nominations, the players sat up and waited for game revelations, and the show did not disappoint.
Last year, Microsoft hit the big time and pulled the Xbox Series X out of the hat, along with the exclusive “Hellblade II”. This year’s award ceremony did not come as a big surprise, but there were still several game news that give PC and console players every reason to rejoice.
Perhaps the best console purchase
Since we have already mentioned Microsoft, we can start with the Xbox. After years of dormancy and a number of rumors, a new “Perfect Dark” game is on its way. Behind the helm is the Xbox studio The Initiative and this is the company’s first project.
Unfortunately, the trailer did not reveal anything about the platform – we dare to predict Windows 10 and Xbox Series X | S – or launch date, but at least we know that Joanna Dark is back.
«Microsoft Flight Simulator», this year’s simulator / strategy game, is described as one of the best games of the year and has an impressive 91 points on Metacritic. So far it is only available for PC, but during the Video Game Awards, Microsoft was able to reveal that the flight simulator is also on its way to the two new Xboxes, with a launch set for the summer of 2021.

There was no new “Halo” this year. “Halo: Infinite”, which was originally to be launched at the same time as the new Xboxes, has been postponed until next year, but the year is not completely “Halo” -free. Epic Games and Microsoft have entered into a collaboration that brings the boss himself, Master Chief, to “Fortnite”.
Another Xbox-exclusive game is “Ark 2” which has none other than the actor star Vin Diesel in the lead role as a dinosaur hunter. That promises well, right?
The developers behind the game plague “Among Us”, this year’s multiplayer and mobile game, were able to reveal tonight that there will be a new map, “The Airship”.
At the same time, PlayStation 5 players can look forward to “Season”, which is referred to as “an atmospheric adventure game in third person” where you ride around on your bike and explore the world. At least the trailer made us want to know more about the game.
And speaking of visually beautiful games. The developer behind the critically acclaimed “Gone Home” is back with a new game, called “Open Roads”. Not surprisingly, this is a story-driven game where you follow a mother and daughter on a road trip through what looks like a deserted landscape.

“It takes two”, from the company behind “A Way Out” and “Brother: A Tale of Two Sons”, is a new collaborative game with puzzle solving and a lot of other fun. In fact, this game also has a release date, unlike the other games that were unveiled. March 26, 2021 it launches for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox, and of course also PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.
While Microsoft is waking up “Perfect Dark” from hibernation, EA is doing the same with “Dragon Age”. It has long been known that BioWare is working on a new “Dragon Age” and yesterday the players were served a new trailer.
BioWare is also working on a new “Mass Effect”, which we know many are waiting for. “Andromeda”, the previous in the series, did not live up to expectations of the original trilogy, so we cross our fingers that the upcoming delivers the goods.
Another game series that has been missed is EA’s “Dead Space”. It probably will not return, but Striking Distance Studios consists of the creators of the first “Dead Space”, is back with a new horror game.
