vida-Heitzinger: “Employers pocket sales, but do not want to give employees anything”
Vienna (OTS) – “It is very welcome that the hairdressers, masseurs as well as cosmetic and foot care studios are allowed to reopen today. However, it cannot be the case that the employees will drop their promised tip replacement while the lockdown is in place, ”says Christine Heitzinger, chairwoman of the services department of the union vida. While the government supports the companies with turnover substitutes, the companies themselves do not want to pay out the money to the employees in the form of a tip hundred. “We are still waiting for an acceptance from the Chamber of Commerce representatives. I think that the employees have more than earned the hundred, “said Heitzinger.
Accordingly, the vida union appeals to employers to finally become active here. Heitzinger refers to the fairness towards the employees. It cannot be that on one side you hold up your hand in the replacement of sales, but do not pass any of it on to the employees. “Employers in other industries such as the catering industry have long recognized their obligation to their colleagues,” concludes Heitzinger.
