The WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide is a kind of prelude to the Australian Open Grand Slam, which will be held on January 17-30. Competitors from all over the world take part in lower rank competitions to better acclimatize to the Antipodes.
The Polish woman in the previous round smoothly beat Australian Daria Savilla and confidently reported in the 1/8 finals. Her rival, in turn, had to spend a little more time on the court to outplay Ekaterina Aleksandrowa. Ultimately, she succeeded and the Canadian faced a Pole. The two have never played against each other before.
Swiatek’s meeting with Fernandez was not the most difficult. Polka won the first set 6: 1. The second one was also won by our player.
