The Verstappen champion won the introductory training for the Canadian Grand Prix

After the morning rides, the Dutch pilot accelerated in the afternoon and Charles Leclerc came closest to him. The Monaco driver, who is lagging behind the Verstappen by 34 points after the Ferrari debacle in the previous Grand Prix in Baku by 34 points, was 0.081 seconds behind him. It was fifth in the morning.

Carlos Sainz set the third time with the second Ferrari monopost, which was second in the morning. Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel rose to fourth place, winning in Montreal in 2013 with Red Bull and five years later with Ferrari. Forty-year-old Spanish veteran and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso of the Alpine stable finished behind the Aston Martin stable.

Verstappen’s colleague from Red Bull and the second man in the standings, the Mexican Sergio Pérez, was fourth in the introductory training. However, unlike his rivals, he did not accelerate much in the afternoon and took 11th place.
