“At the moment, a fairly clear majority of the Czech population agrees with the obligation to wear veils indoors,” said Pavel Ranocha, an analyst at ČT. According to him, the support grew very significantly as the number of infected people grew and the situation worsened.

Kantar CZ conducted the survey in two waves, each interviewing six hundred people. She collected data from August 24 to September 11.

Support for veils in the offices rose by 18 percentage points to 78 percent in the second wave. The number of people who agree to wear protective equipment in shops has also increased. There were 55 percent of them at the end of August, and 73 percent in September.

Support for wearing veils in schools has also increased. While at the end of August only 27 percent of people agreed, in September the number of supporters rose to 45 percent.
