The Valencian Community leads the national ranking of the distinctive ‘Prepared Covid-19’, with 594 tourist services, which certify that, “in addition to being a quality destination, we are a safe and accredited destination.”
This has been stated by the general director of Turisme, Herick Campos, who has highlighted the Generalitat’s commitment to tourist quality, and has reiterated that “from Turisme there is a determined effort to be a quality, sustainable and hospitable destination”.
Campos has participated in the opening of the ‘Sicted CV Inter-destination Committee’, a conference where the current situation of the destinations of the Valencian Community adhered to the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination (Sicted) has been analyzed and the new lines of work.
The SictedCV Inter-destination Committee is the participation body whose scope of work is activities related to the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination in the Valencian Community. It is made up of Turisme CV technicians and managers or representatives of the tourism councils of Sicted destinations in the Valencian Community, and there are currently 26 destinations.
Herick Campos has pointed out that “the Valencian Community is the second national community with the most distinguished tourist services, with 1,039, only one less than Andalusia”.
In addition, he stressed that “the Valencian Community leads the national ranking of the Prepared Covid-19 badges, with 594 tourist services, which certify that in addition to being a quality destination, we are a safe and accredited destination.”
The general director has influenced the commitment of Turisme to promote certified quality in the Valencian Community and recalled that “we carry out coordinated work with the government of Spain through the Sicted program, which has criteria and standards recognized at the national level “.
Along these lines, he explained that “joining the Sicted program means that both destinations and establishments carry out governance around quality that ensures that when a tourist goes to that establishment or destination, they will find a quality service” .
“From Turisme Comunitat Valenciana we are going to continue working and generating coordination” and he pointed out that “the Sicted Comunitat Valenciana Interdestination Committee is a sample of the co-management that we carry out with the destinations and adhered services to focus and evaluate the work we do”, he added .
BALANCE SICTED
Currently, the Valencian Community is the second community in the ranking of distinguished tourist services with 1,039, only one less than Andalusia. In addition, it has 33 adhered destinations, representing 14.34% of the national territory.
During 2021, La Canal de Navarrés, Torreblanca and Vall d’Albaida have joined, in addition to the very recent accessions of Castellón de la Plana and Terres del Maestrat.
Regarding the sub-sector participation and taking into account that 36 tourist sub-sectors can participate, the Valencian Community stands out in terms of participation in hotels and tourist apartments, restaurants and shops, a trend similar to the national participation.
