The Valencia City Council will create a protocol for the definitive implementation of teleworking

VALÈNCIA (EP) The experience of teleworking in the Valencia City Council will be used for its definitive implementation, through the creation of a multidisciplinary working group with the aim of creating a protocol and planning it.

This team will be made up of workers from various areas of the administration, such as the general technical coordination of innovation and people management and personnel services, training, occupational risk prevention, evaluation of services and information technologies.

It will have the collaboration of the Las Naves innovation center to take advantage of the experience acquired by this body on teleworking. The protocol will be negotiated with the union representation of the City Council before its final approval, advances the councilor for Management, Luisa Notario, in a municipal statement.

It will include the detection of profiles capable of teleworking, as well as the conditions of the personnel who may request their participation: personal conciliation or health, delimitation of occupational risks, training, technical requirements, timing criteria or performance evaluation methodology.

The regulations will try to detect which profiles can telework and which are more difficult, establish a progressive implementation, train profiles according to their digital skills, define occupational risks at home and establish common tools to make it effective and efficient. .

“Despite the Covid-19, we have the ability to continue with the day-to-day life of the City Council so that citizens are not harmed,” says the head of Innovation, Carlos Galiana, after the implementation of the work from the first day of alarm status in Las Naves.

In the face of the health crisis, the Valencia City Council has distributed more than 2,000 teleworking licenses among its public employees, “avoiding institutional and administrative paralysis”. It has also accelerated activity to meet the needs of vulnerable citizens, in addition to guaranteeing the protection of officials.

This model of organization of the personnel and their work involves not only the definition of the jobs and the tasks to be performed, but also the establishment of objectives and an evaluation of their realization. “In many cases it has been found that staff engagement and motivation have increased.”
